Lt Commander McKinnon has been a member of the TRMN since 7 July 2012. And is a Founding Member of the HMS Truculent.

"Patrick has been reading David Weber since the 90’s when he stumbled on “Short Victorious War” in a used bookstore. And promptly became a book pusher in return. While David Weber is an obvious favorite, he’s also a fan of Lois McMaster Bujold, Naomi Novik, David Eddings, David Drake, and a whole raft of others. He’s also a fan of Star Trek, Star Wars, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, UFO, and Babylon 5.

In April of 2012 he noticed a friend in the 501st Legion (a Star Wars fan group), posting something to a group called “The Royal Manticoran Navy”. Curiosity got the better of him, ending up joining just in time to become a keel plate owner for the HMS Truculent.

In addition to being the Truculent’s Chief Medical Officer, Patrick is also the Chair for SIA’s Medical Department, handling the Corpsman and Sick Berth Attendant ratings exams. In addition to all of that, he’s also the Western Regional Director for BuSupps, making sure that ships and conventions in the 10th Fleet region have their supplies.

In real life, Patrick lives in Washington State with his ‘tween daughter (who’s reading Weber on her own now) and her mother (also an Honorverse fan). He is the director for a private school in Seattle, and in his rather scarce free time reviews bad movies, cooks, is involved in local fandom and the SCA, rides his 3-wheel motorcycle, plays the harp, is an avid curler, and has altogether too many Lego sets."
